2007. Mixed media / video.
“Stasis” was an installation art piece that ran
for a week at the MassArt “Squash Courts” in
Boston, MA in late 2007. The piece was
originally conceived as a living environment, consisting of
sculpture and silkscreened prints by Kate Van
Rees and Sarah Zuckerman. Three televisions
playing looping pre-recorded static patterns and
sounds designed by Drew Tobia were mounted on
the far wall, while underwater sounds added
ambience to the space. The three television screens have since been shown independently of the complete "Stasis" installation. Presented here are videos documenting the installation - both a video approximation that attempts to recreate the static patterns of the three television screens, and a walkthrough of the original installation. |
